Backcountry Ski Touring and Ski Mountaineering

Backcountry skiing is an incredible experience. The quality of snow and wilderness environment atop Red Mountain Pass is unsurpassed in the San Juans. We offer a variety of different ski touring and ski mountaineering curriculums designed to meet individual needs.

The Spring is a great time to climb high on the San Juan's majestic high peaks and ski 2000 or more vertical feet. Breathtaking views and your party is likely to have the mountain to yourself. Call the office to find out more about all the different possibilities.

AIARE Avalanche Courses

The San Juan Mountains offer varied and complex terrain, consistent snowfall, and easy access for avalanche education. Utilizing picture-perfect ski terrain from gladed trees to open bowls, we teach skills such as terrain assessment, transceiver use, and snowpack analysis for safe travel and skiing in any backcountry location.
