3-Day Pre-Season Training Camps
We are offering two different opportunities this year to get a head start on your ice and mixed climbing season. Come and tune up the way the pros do. Ouray is second to none for getting shape and honing techniques for the winter climbing season. These 3 day camps will focus on developing techniques, training theories and exercises, and dryland preparation for climbing.
The general outline calls for 2 days of drytool training and one day of rock climbing focusing on techniques and power/endurance training. Afternoons are spent examining different methods for gaining strength, endurance, and flexibility in the gym setting as well as honing some technical rope skills.
Day 1: General discussion of pre-season training principals. Introductory drytool exercises and techniques training on the camp bird road climbs.
Day 2: Movement exercises on rock climbs focusing on general movement and translation to the frozen mediums.
Day 3: More advance drytooling and mixed climbing techniques as well as power/endurance training.
If there is good ice, we can substitute ice climbing for one or two of these days.
Camp 1: Nov 12-14, 2011.
Camp 2: Nov 19-21, 2011.
It is $675 with a 4 person max. It does not include accommodations or travel to Ouray. We have also set up a number of private sessions for folks looking for more personalized training. A private 3 day is $950 and will be designed around your exact needs.
