Mountaineering in
the San Juans!
The San Juans are well known as a rugged and steep range. There are fantastic climbs in both the summer and winter for every skill level. From scrambles up area Fourteeners to steep snow and ice couloirs on lesser known summits, The San Juans offer any excited mountaineer a variety of routes and challenges to choose from. In general the San Juans are also a much less populated mountain range. It is common to have a summit to yourself as you enjoy the dramatic scenery that surrounds you.
Our guides are all excellent mountaineering instructors, with intimate knowledge of the complexities of the San Juans. Every year we start folks off kicking their first steps and tying their first knots.
